Kerry Mattern
Head PGA Golf Professional
Kerry has been the Head Golf Professional at Cedarbrook Country Club since 1992. Kerry grew up in South Jersey and graduated from Glassboro State College. He played on the golf team that competed in the Division III National Championships two of the four years he played there and he won the Metropolitan Golf Association Intercollegiate Championship in 1977. He turned professional in 1978 and after spending time as an assistant golf professional at several facilities including Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Florida, his first position as Head Golf Professional was at the Oak Terrace Country Club in Ambler in 1990. He moved over to the newly opened Commonwealth National Golf Club in 1991 and then began at Cedarbrook in 1992. Kerry has been active in the Philadelphia Section of the PGA as a past District Director and as Co-Chairman of the Section's Club Relations Committee. In that capacity he received the Bill Strasbaugh Award in 2004 for his work in Club Relations for the Section. He has three children, John, Hope, and Sarah and lives in Jamison with his wife Louise.
Dave Roberts
PGA Assistant Golf Professional
Dave has been an assistant at Cedarbrook Country Club for over 20 years. A Bethlehem native, he graduated from Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, West Virginia. Turning pro after graduation he worked at Point Judith C.C. in Rhode Island and Shaker Heights C.C. in Cleveland before coming to Cedarbrook. During the winters he worked at John's Island in Vero Beach,Florida and Seminole Golf Club in North Palm Beach Florida. An active player in the area, his career highlight was winning the Philadelphia PGA Section Championship in 2002. Dave lives in Ambler and has two children Russell and Helen.
Michael Dean
Assistant Golf Professional
Michael has been an assistant golf professional at Cedarbrook Country Club since 2007. Michael is a native of Belfast, Northern Ireland and worked at the well-respected Shandon Park Golf Club for 7 years before moving to the United States. Shandon Park has produced many great Irish amateur players most notably being the 2011 U.S. Open Champion, Rory McIroy. Michael became a member of the Great British and Irish PGA in 1997 and moved to the United States in 2004, where he was employed at the Sunnybrook Golf Club as an assistant golf professional. He moved to Cedarbrook Country Club in 2007 and attained his US PGA membership in 2010. He and his wife Krista reside in Norristown with their two children Jonathan and Grace.
Amelia Rorer
LPGA Teaching Professional
Amelia has been employed as an LPGA Teaching Professional at Cedarbrook Country Club since 2009. Amelia's reputation as one of the area's best instructors has been built from her experiences at many fine local facilities. She has taught for 25 years at clubs including Rolling Green CC, Lehigh CC, Philadelphia Cricket Club, Waynesborough CC, Commonwealth National GC, and for the past 6 years at River Crest GC. She has coaching experience with the golf teams at Chestnut Hill Academy and at Ursinus College. Amelia has written many instructional articles in major publications and has been a TV Instructor and analyst for the Comcast Network's "Inside Golf" show. A graduate of Abington High School and Ashland College in Ohio, Amelia excelled as a field hockey player. She won many championships during her amateur golf career as a member at Manufacturer's G & CC and played the LPGA Professional Tour from 1976-1983, finishing in the top 15 in two U.S. Open Championships. Amelia resides in Blue Bell and is looking forward to serving the membership by offering quality individual and group instruction for players of all skills.
